A Louisiana accident has taken the lives of two people. The motorcycle crash occurred just after midnight in St. Landry Parish. A pickup truck and motorcycle collided, killing two of the people involved.

The pickup truck involved was towing a horse trailer prior to the crash. The truck turned in front of the three-wheeled motorcycle, causing it to strike the side of the horse trailer. A 52-year-old man died at the scene of the crash. His passenger was transported to the hospital, but later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the pickup did not sustain any injuries. Initial reports indicate that once the investigation is completed, criminal charges could be possible. Details are scarce surrounding the reasons behind the motorcycle crash or why the driver may have turned in front of the bike.

Any time a motorcycle crash occurs, it can end in devastating injuries or even death. Although the reasons for this accident are currently unclear, the accident investigation could help answer any questions that may arise. This may help families who are struggling to understand exactly what happened to their loved ones.

If the Louisiana investigation has cited possible negligence in its findings, it could also help bolster claims that the families may make if they decide to seek civil legal action against the driver. While this does not necessarily appear to be the case now, the families could decide in the future to seek compensation for the driver's role in this deadly crash. Such compensation could help the families with any medical bills that have occurred, as well as funeral expenses for any slain loved ones.
