A 33-year-old man passed away after injuries he sustained in a Louisiana car accident. The man was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle on Highway 67 when the crash occurred. The other driver is now facing criminal charges as a result of this car accident.

The vehicle in which the man was traveling was headed south just after midnight when another vehicle pulled out of a private driveway. That vehicle turned directly into the path of the oncoming vehicle and there was no way to avoid the subsequent crash. The front seat passenger died at the crash scene.

The pickup driver who pulled out in front of the car is now facing criminal charges connected to this car accident. He has been booked on vehicular homicide charges and failure to yield from a private drive. There have been no reports of additional injuries.

Any time a car accident ends in fatalities it can leave more questions than answers. Although the pickup driver is facing criminal charges, it may not be enough consolation for the families left behind. In such cases, they retain the right to seek civil compensation against the driver responsible for the death of their loved one. Once the accident report is issued, it will likely clear up many of the questions the family may have about the loss of their family member. It could also document evidence that points the finger to the other driver, allowing the family to build a stronger case if they decide to press forward with a civil lawsuit in Louisiana.
